You must be wondering why Adobe Premiere Pro is popular and what it’s used for. Well, apart from just video editing, Premiere Pro is used for tracking, MultiCam video editing, auto color correction, tracking and rotoscoping, adobe dynamic link, etc.

I believe you watch movies. Movies are shot in the production stage and then edited – which is the post-production stage. In this stage, video editing software is employed to make the composition, add transitions, cuts, fx, audios, etc.
So, what is the video editing software employed? We have plenty of them. Adobe Premiere Pro is one. It is a cloud-based video editing software that can be used offline to edit videos, convert videos, and color correct/grade videos. In short, it’s an advanced video editing program for creating videos.
The Uses & Top Features of Adobe Premiere Pro
Apart from the basics, you can use Adobe Premiere Pro for so many things. Let’s cover some of its in-depth uses.
1. Advanced and Faster Aids When Editing
You have some tools to make your editing faster. Part of this is The Ripple Edit tool which can be used to delete empty spaces in your timeline, The Slip Tool, The Rolling Edit tool, The Slide Tool, The Track Select Tool, and so on.
You can edit any type of video format, change your video format, edit any frame size be it HD, 2K, 4K, 8K, etc. Adobe Premiere will handle this for you conveniently. You also have 100GB of cloud space to save your file just in case, you know!
2. Footage Auto Color Correction
Adobe Premiere Pro can help you auto-correct your footage. Assuming you lost your white balance, raised your exposure, or bumped up your ISO when shooting, you can correct it with this great advanced program.
But just like any other tool or AI, they are not 100% efficient, you still have to do some tweaking.
3. Creating Multi-Camera Video
Let’s say you have an interview that was shot with at least two cameras to edit, it’s easy to merge them up in Premiere Pro, it’s very easy.
In fact, it’s going to synchronize it for you and you can easily edit your video by using the numbers (1,2,3, etc.) on your PC keyboard to call out which camera you want to display at a particular time.
4. Adobe Dynamic Link
This, I must say, is one of the best features of Premiere Pro. I use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Illustrator. With Adobe Dynamic, you get to link up your raw files together.
Assuming you are working on Adobe Premiere Pro and you want to use graphics you designed in Photoshop, you can easily use them in Premiere Pro and even go back to edit on Photoshop, the changes will reflect on Premiere Pro. Isn’t that beautiful?
5. Adobe Premiere Proxies
This is another beautiful feature of Premiere Pro. With proxies, you can turn your 8K footage to HD and use it to make your edits. This will save your PC the stress of playing the BIG HUGE 8K footage. Your PC will play the 8K footage converted to HD (proxies) smoothly without lagging.
Do note that when you’re ready to export your file, it will use your 8K footage to export and not the proxies. So you still have your full quality.
6. Tracking
So you got something you want to blur off on your video? Premiere Pro will help you with this. With the tracking and rotoscoping ability, you can draw a mask around that place and track it, Premiere Pro will do the magic of tracking the object from the beginning of your footage to the very end.
And then, you can apply your effect, Gaussian blur for blurring, or any other effect you want to put on it.
7. Markers
Another great use of Premiere Pro which makes your editing flexible is the use of markers. As its name implies, markers – to mark. So, if you want to come back to a particular point, you can use the marker to mark out this part and go on with your editing.
Markers come in different colors, you can use as many markers on your timeline with different colors as you please.
I use this most time when editing and especially when editing audio. Just to mark out where the audio drops, the intro, the outro, etc. Then insert the clip right away there.
8. Easy Workflow
When it comes to movie production, most of the time, it involves many editors. You can use Adobe Premiere Pro for this. It provides team collaboration and easy file sharing, in which each editor will do their part of the project and pass it on to the next editor.
9. Use of Templates
Adobe Premiere is widely used in the world of video editors. In the sequel to this, we have plenty of templates available on the internet which you can purchase or get free. These templates will hasten your work, save time in creating and even make a great project.
